Hey,
I bet Wayne will break a pencil, or a keyboard, when he reads this one. I would suggest that you give the hosts of this bulletin board a try. |

I don't know who "everybody" is, but I can tell you right now, STOP LISTENING TO THEM, THEY ARE NOT THE PEOPLE TO TALK TO!
My experience with Automobile Amnesia has been....let's just say it's been less than satisfactory. If you want good service, contact Wayne at Pelican parts. I hear they have a really cool web site too..... |

ALWAYS go to Pelican first. These guys take great care of their customers, and they give us this great web site!!!! I have used them for a couple of rather large orders, and will always go to them. Period.

I certainly agree with the other posts regarding contacting Wayne at Pelican Parts first. Daaaaaa!!!! There are a number of companies out in the market place that offer 914 parts. Unfortunately, Automobile Atlanta sometimes is the only company that carries hard to get parts. My suggestion is to use them as an absolute LAST resort. All of my experiences to date with Auto Atlanta have been bad, real bad. I honestly don't know how they stay in business. As evidenced by some of these posts, I haven't heard ONE person say a positive thing about AA.
Call and/or e-mail Wayne with your parts needs. I am confindent he can take care of most or all of your needs. |

DON'T BUY FROM PELICAN PARTS!!!
Unless ofcourse you're interested in very reasonable prices, first hand knowledge based advice, and unmatched responsiveness to customer requests and inquiries. Some people are not into that. I hear that they go to Automobile Atlanta. I've never had any experience with AA, but I do use their catalog for reference so I know what to ask for at Pelican Parts. |

Hi guys and thanks for your support. Because you're such pals, I'll let you know what's in store in the near future for Pelican.
First off, we will be staffing the phones full time during the day starting July 5th (hopefully), so that you can order parts throughout the day, and over the phone. Email is great, but technology is not that reliable, and the touch and feel of voice-to-voice contact is missing. Our policy will be to take orders over the phone, and answer tech support over the email (this is not set in stone, just the preferred method...) Additionally, we will be publishing our toll-free number. I remember I used to hate calling a certain place on the East Coast because I would be put on hold for 10-15 minutes at 25 to 30 cents a minute on my calling card from work. Thirdly, we will be publishing our on-line catalog following this weekend. This has taken a tremendously long time to implement. I will only have the 914 section completed by Monday evening, and it's taken me about 200-250 hours!!! The 911 stuff will come quickly after. The time spent on this has eaten away from the generation of more tech articles, but never fear, more are on their way as soon as the catalog is finished. Also, I'm delaying the release of the CD-Rom at least until we get the 914 catalog on it (should be Monday). I'm also lowering the price and format. It's going to be $8 + shipping, and will include the entire site, and the on-line catalog! In the meantime, the best way to contact us is via email, or to phone the shop number at 310-318-3383, preferably in the evenings when we are there (PST). Once again, I apologize for delays in getting some orders filled, and in responding to some email. As stated previously, we are really busy kicking this site into gear, and sometimes get overwhelmed with email and phone calls... But don't hesitate to email me, because I love to hear from people! Many, many thanks, Wayne |
