Which Horn Is Which?

Pelican lists two horns for the 914. Hi & Lo tones. Mine, on the driver side, has stopped working. Which one is that?

Thanks

If you can't hear it, it is probably an extremely lo tone. Sorry, if I hadn't said it, someone else would have. No serious answer for you. Good Luck

If the remaining one goes beep it is the high tone if it goes boop it is the low tone.
I also have no real answer except to say that try saying beep and boop and see how your horn sounds. or honk a honda and something else and see where yours is in relation.

Good answer 914fan. I finally got them both off, and the working horn is stamped 400Hz and it does sound a lot like "beep". The dead one, OTOH, is stamped 335Hz. (interesting how much audible difference 65Hz makes)

Regards

Makes sense. 400 Hz is about a G and 335 is about an E.

Another thing you can do....if your car has both horns, take them out and if you tap in the front with your finger nail, one will have a lower tone then the other. You will then know if it's the low or hi tone horn. Sometimes it's difficult to know if the 400megahertzs is lower or higher than the 300megahertzs cause (what the heck is a megahertz anyway).

I tried my horn today. I have only one, on the pass. side, and it was definitely an E. So the 335 Hz must be on the pass side.

Me neither, but I know this: Megahurts means it hurts really bad!

I can differentiate pitch change to within .25 cents, that's 400 divisions between notes. I rock!

I can transcribe music as it plays too... as of 20 years ago..

That's a horse I fell off of a LONG time ago.
