Angry fuel injection

the past owner of my porsche ended up changing the car over to dual weber carbs, and it seems to me that they are either jet'd wrong, and they are really just a pain. does anyone know if i could get the fuel injection off of a type 4 engine in a vw or would it have to be directly from/for a porche ....1.7L. thanks

Any D-jet from a 1.7 liter Type IV should work, if the engine is stock. I don't remember if any of the Buses had D-jet FI, though. Some of the VW 411s did, and possibly some 412s.

You can probably use the L-jetronic FI setup off a 1.8L 914 or a Bus. It should play a little better with a more-aggressive cam than the D-jet does, but you can't go too wild... I would make sure to test with a Wide-Band O2 meter (like the Innovate product that we sell!) to make sure that the mixture is reasonable under all driving circumstances, though. You don't want to run the engine lean and burn it up.

I'll gladly trade my complete excellant D-jet system for your complete carb set-up.

It's still attached to my 2.0 motor in my shed.
