airboxes
Hello,
will a 2.0 air box fit on a 1.7 engine? Where a existing 1.7 air box already is? thx |

Nope. The air goes in a completely different direction--the 2.0 air cleaner fits on top of a throttle body that goes straight up and down, while the 1.7 air cleaner feeds into a big rubber pipe that runs to a throttle body that is lying on its side.
You may be able to fake up an intake from PVC pipe, or from a "cold air intake" from another car (like a Honda Civic). I've seen that done, and as long as you remember to make a rain hat for it the homemade setup seems to work reasonably well. BTW, the stock oil-bath filter is a very good filter, and not very restrictive. --DD
