can the windshield be reinstalled?

Many 914 race cars have there front window and frame removed. Can it be properly reinstalled? Thanks to any who respond.

You can do anything if you know how to weld and fabricate....

One of the 914club BBS guys did that to his car last year. (Look for "German8tor", or something similar to that.) It sounded like quite a bit of work, but definitely doable.

Do you trust your welding & fab skills 100%?

Would you trust an original windshield frame 100% now, after 30+ years have had a chance to take their toll on it? (Not to mention the dreaded "R" word--RUST!) If you find a 914 with the top off and the owner not around, grab the top of the windshield frame and wiggle it. You might be surprised how much it moves.

Mine seems to be pretty solid, of course it has never been off the car though...
