914 turbo??

anybody heard about a turbo system for stock 914's specifecly the 2.0L or is that just stupid to think about?? i'm sure you wouldn't be able to give it much boost anyway, but i was toying with the idea.

now why would you want to do that? not happy with the fact that you never have to use the brakes on your 914? momentum can be a silent killer ...

Nothing, really.
the popcorn thing is a *914club* thing when we expect all kinds of crazy stuff.

Just laughing because of that.

Jake can build a motor.

What do you want to use your 914 for?

if you do a search you'll find 914/turbo information, both old* and new**

*kits used to be made way back when, not many sold

**all of the "modern" turbo installs have been done without kits and everything put together by the owners of the cars, Jake Raby supposed to be coming out with a kit, it won't be cheap, but there shouldn;t be any guessing

as for people using motors from Jake, again, plenty of information here as well as shoptalkforums and when it's up again, 914club.com.....pick up the latest Hot VW's, great article on the buildup of a 2270 by Jake, tons of information in there.

Send a message via AIM to Acox914
now you need a type 4 "teepee" exhaust to hack up for the turbo as seen above......

also called a "tri-mil" style

It's been so long since I posted here that my old username vanished, so I started all over again-

My 914 Turbo arrangement is about 50% through it's development. The project has been on hold while I finish a very special project engine for a vehicle to debut at Leman in July.

Upon my return from Leman the testing will be picked up and finished where I left off in late February.

My set up incorporates a cooling system, EFI with direct ignition along with the entire Turbo package from the exhaust to the intake. All the 914 enthusiast needs is a longblock engine.

I am leaving nothing to spare, this is being done right! I have 4 more engines lined up to "KILL" to find the weak points of various displacements, next on the list is an 80K mile stock 2.0 engine..

Hey there Jake, glad to see you chimed in

What kinds of hp/torque gains have you seen with turbo compared to base engines (equal displacement, naturally aspirated or forced induction) ? Maybe a percentage, so I have an idea of what my 1.8 grenade would be.
