Exclamation Distributors

What is the difference between the distributors
1- 022-905-205E and
2- 039-905-205A

I know they go to different model year and engine size. I would like to know how they operate differently. For example:
Do they both have vacuum advance cans attached?
How does the advance operate?
If they are both equal, why did they make the 039?
Thanks

Hi, Ralf!

They should both have vacuum cannisters--all 914 distributors did. (With the possible exception of the European 1.8 version.)

The advance should work in the same way, but the specs are a little bit different. Check http://www.dgi.net/914/tech/distrib.html for details on the specs of at least some of the 914 distributors.
