How does the finned deep sump attach to the engine?

It attaches where the oil strainer plate bolts to the engine. You install longer studs, mount the sump and fit the oil strainer to the bottom of the sump.

Keep in mind that you may have ground clearance issues with the sump installed. Are you trying to improve oil cooling?

My best experience is with a Tuna can. until I went with Accu-sump. and for more cooling full flow the case to a bigger cooler,

Deep sump won't help much.
