seat removal + turbo tie rod

Anyone give me quick tips on seat removal for my '74 914. It has the tilt adjustment and I can't figure out how to get it out.

Additionally, what is the difference in turbo tie rod kits. Prices are wide ranging. Are they appreciably different from replace in kind tie-rod ends.

Thanks

Slide the seat forward using the loop handle. If there is no loop handle at the front of the seat, feel under the front of the seat for a broken-off nub of the handle. Press the nub upward, that should let you slide the seat forward. When it hits the forward stop, reach under the other seat rail and push the tab in the rail up. That will let you slide the seat the rest of the way forward, off the rails.

It's usually pretty greasy and dirty under there, so use gloves!

the term "tab" may be a little misleading. here is a picture of the item. this would be on the outside rail (door side). you have to run the seat nearly fully forward to find it. if you can't push it upward, push the seat back 1/4" or so, wear a glove on the hand pushing the tab up. if you're holding it up, the finger will prob get pinched and you'll have a nice blood blister to pop.
