You need a 13mm wrench and a doctors note, bc you did what I did a while back, and you'll need to get the bumper off.

Your trunk release sheath on the cable broke, nort surprising because most are 30+ yrs old.

Anywho, take bumper off and you'll see a hole in the middle of the actual front trunk pan. Take screwdriver and slide little nub and trunk will pop open.

Happened to me in the middle of nowhere in OHio at around 2:30am at a gas station.

That was a LONG night, but the trunk procedure takes ~15mm'

In the Haynes manuel page 197 sec 14.
1. Remove front bumper
2. Remove the rubber plug form the cross panel, just above the lower part of the lock.
3. Actuate the lock bolt to disengage the lock using a screwdriver.

Hope this helps good luck.

Indeed, turn car one way to access bolts from side A and vice versa for side B.

4 bolts, no biggie.

Will the bumper fit in the car if the bolts break off?
