Impress Me. (post pics)

Hi, I've never ventured to the 914 boards so this is a first. My friend wants to buy a fairl inexpensive car to do canyon runs in and since I'm a Porsche fan offered the 914 idea to him. He really likes everything about the car except the look. He doesnt like the stock 914 front end, but showed him a pic of a modified front bumper that looked pretty mean and was very very impresssed. He wants to see more pictures before he decides. Its either a 914 or a Datsun Z series and I want him to get the Porsche so please post some impressive pictures that would help me shed some light.

Seems a little odd, buying a car based on having a mean bumper. Get him a ride in one, he'll begin to appreciate the rest of the car. If you want pics, I went with black bumpers on mine.

If he's into canyon-carving, chances are his first test-drive will hook him but good! If not, maybe he's not meant to be a 914 guy.

We tend to be addicted to these little rust-buckets...

In my humble opinion.

A bone stock 914 that has not had the suspension and tires brought up to fresh stock (or better) condition.

It is a OK canyon car. At best. For me anyway........

When upgraded to new stock status... They are fun...

When the suspension is upgraded and the stickiest tires available are put on one of these cars...

OMG......... It's a go kart with an attitude...!!!!!!!!!

And truly a fun and impressive car. (+1g)

Again.. This is all a matter of perspective.

Have your friend (and you) spend some time on this board and www.914club.com.

Get yourselves a better understanding of these cars.

Done correctly. The 914 is fast, nimble and handles like few other cars made today.

The best part of this car... is the people that own them.

Just hang out.... and see for yourself........
