Post fuel injection rebuild - cleanup

I just finished pulling the engine from my car. A couple of questions. The fuel injection wiring harness is pretty ratty. I didn't see on the PP catalouge the rubber boots that cover the connection to the fuel injectors? Do you carry these? How about all the other rubber boots? Also, is there anything I can do to "revamp" the wiring harness? Does PP carry rebuild fuel injectors?

The boots are available from various sources (not from Pelican that I am aware). But some of them are rather expensive, and some have to be ordered in large quantities only.

Jeff Bowlsby has started rebuilding the harnesses. (It's a bit of a mis-nomer, since I think there are only one or two of the plastic connector bodies that he re-uses, everything else is new.) I don't have his address handy right now...

The rubber boots at the FI components need the rubber boots to protect the wiring and connection from heat, water and dirt accumulation. Exposed wires don't last long. There are 4 different boot sizes 2P, 3P, 4P, and 5P. I have looked everywhere for the the original style boots and as far as I can tell, the original style boots are no longer made. If they are to be found, they are likely limited NOS stashed away in a dealership somewhere, I have searched everywhere without luck, certainly nothing that is available on a continual basis.

I use rubber boots in a newer style that are very durable and obtainable, but only in larger quantities and with long lead times. I use these new style boots on my rebuilt harnesses and they are a major cost of the rebuilt harness.

There usually is very little one can do to 'revamp' a ratty harness. Any exposed wires usually are quite brittle and the special wire terminals break off. After extensive searching, I have all the correct OEM or better parts. I repair original FI harnesses to a functional condition and rebuild harnesses using all new parts. Unless your harness just needs a minor little tune-up, its usually cheaper to trade it in as a core harness and get a rebuilt harness.

I have several rebuilt harnesses ready to ship, as well as a few reconditioned ones, depending one which year/model engine you have.

Let me know if I can help you further.
