Porsche Crest Fuel Pump Question

Greetings: I have a 1975 914 1.8. I plan to install a 2056 engine kit, with dual webers, and want to know if the stock fuel pump (for Ljet fuel injection) can be used? It seems if a pressure relief valve was installed, after the carbs (in the return line to the tank) it should work. If this is not possible, any recommendations on the best fuel pump (mounted near the tank) that performs well, is reasonably priced, and is quiet.

Thanks
Rob

It can be used, but you are talking about 3-7psi for carbs vs. 38-40 psi for F.I.

I would get an electric pump for carbs, personally.

Look into a low-pressure rotary pump, together with a good ("good" != "big shiney chrome") pressure regulator. IIRC, there is a Holley pump which is well regarded.

The Facet pump is known as "the clacker" for a very good reason.
