Tire size?
Does anybody know what the original tire size was on a 1974 914?

Didn't most of them come with 165/15 tires?

I believe by 74 they were all 165R15. Which translates to approximately 165/80-15 in today's nomenclature.
Some of the early ones ran 155R15 tires on 4.5" rims, which is just da--ed skinny!! --DD

That's what I thought.
I think some of the 911's came with 185/70 15's along that time.
