Wiring for fuel pump on 1.8 Ljet converted to Carbs

I have read the wiring suggestion using the existing wires and adding a jumper to the relay board, but on the 1.8 Ljet, it only has 1 round relay, the heater blower, and I think you need 2 other relays installed for it to work. Is there a way to wire it without having to but 2 relays at $20.00 each?

you can get the relays cheaper if you buy them used.
try the usual places, like EASY, HPH and Parts Heaven ...

it's always good to have a spare or two anyways, and the unused sockets on the relay board are the ideal place to store them.

andy's jumper wire trick should do the job. you need the relay, and the fuse in place on the relay board for the pump to run. you need to modify the stock pump harness a bit too. what style of pump are you using? rotary, facet,...?

I plan on purchasing a holley or Pierburg fuel pump. I hear the facet pumps are noisy. Any recommendations on which is the best and most affordable?

My relay board only has a relay in position 13 and a fuse in position 10. So I will need to add relays in positions 11 and 12, and a fuse in position 9, is that correct?
Are all round relays the same?

IIRC, you will only need to add one relay with Andy's modification. But more is good to have; you can think of the board as a place to stash spares.

All the round relays are the same.

dave, with andy's trick, no additional relays are needed. just a good fuse, the stock panel pump relay and the wire.

the self regulated rotary pump from CB Performance works great for me. it's quiet and reasonably priced.
