They look a lot like 993 mirrors to me:

Try Automotion. I think they have them for around $425 ea. Not sure if the base needs to be modified or not.

Well, before you go that route, you might consider helping support this BBS by checking with Pelican... (Remember, just because it isn't in the on-line catalog doesn't mean we don't carry it!)

You will need to modify the base. It's a fairly easy job though.
The part that isn't easy is the filling your old window attachment holes and having the door resprayed. The new mirrors don't attach anywhere near where the olds ones do. Looking at my 944 mirrors (and although 968, 993 mirrors look a little different than the 944 mirror, the basic layout of the base is the same) you can't machine the new mirror base to fit in the old location. The newer mirrors push out of the way to reveal an allen head bolt that you unscrew to get the mirror off the door. If you tried to machine the base to fit in the stock location, you would effectively machine away the area that you need to attach the mirror. It CAN be done, but it's easier to machine the base (so that the attachment point is still usable) and attach the mirror on a different part of the door. It is a cool look though. I think with the sharp lines of the 914, you may want to consider a 944 mirror. They have sharper lines and IMHO look great on a 914. |
