Ok guys, ive got a small problem with the rear end on my car, the po set the car up strictly for autocross so it has quite a bit of negative camber on the back end. It makes the car look racy but my new 195's rub so i need to know where i can go to get my car aligned. I dont want to take it to just anywhere cuz its my baby and i dont trust many people around it.So any recomendations would be nice.

Hmm. I've been out of town. I'd probably ask someone at one of our glorious dealers in the area or post the question on the Oregon PCA board (oregonpca.org) and see if they can help. My project is down to less than two weeks to go and I'd like to know too. I'll post the results of my research when I get it.

In order to get less negative camber in the back, you will need special-purpose 914 rear camber shims. These go in between the trailing arm mount and the chassis. Make sure any alignment shop you go to has these shims, or they won't be able to do diddly for the rear camber. Except make it more negative.

I use Carl's Alignment over here in Vancouver, WA. He's got shims cause I gave him a pile of em'. He hates working on 914s, but he's good. I have to go buy some negative camber from him pretty soon.....
Marque Motors, in Portland, did my old 911 including a corner balance, some time back. JPIII |
