Post 75 1.8 problems

well here it goes, finally got tags on my 75 1.8 ( md jpl 809, the jpl is justa porsche lover or so i say )

so i took it out today for more than the just run around the block i have been doing, and after 20 miles it stumbled while crusing on the high way, pulled over and found that the breather hose inlet ( from the oil breather) on the rubber between the air flow sensor and throttle body ( which is bypassed and pluged ) was not so plugged any more, fixed it, then found the Y for the aux air valve and decel valve lose too, fixed it then, when i bypassed the aux air valve found out it was bad to so plugged both hoses ( one to rubber boot and one to aav )

still did not run right all the time would go great then die no power but would not stall, pulled over and checked timing, dewel ignitor installed ok ( and whats wrong with carring all the right tools ), and all other hoses good, then would run right for a few minutes and lose power again espcailly at WOT , got progressivly worse then would do it and stall, start it back up and would run and do it all over again run good for a few then lose power

i just drained the fuel tank ( using fuel pump ) and found it badly rusted, so i clean it and treated it put it back but did not change fuel filter yet could that be the problem and fuel pump makes noises like a small ticking or like it had a small ball bearing bouncing around in it, which to me sounds like it maybe cavitating ( sorry navy term )

so does anybody have an idea, besides the fuel filter which i will change tommarrow

sorry for the small book but i had to get all the drama out
