Question seat mounting

on my previously purchased olympic blue 73 i noticed that the brackets on the back of the drivers seat to mount it down to the rustbitten chassis were broken off. Is there anyway i can repair this w/o getting a new seat? The seats are in good condition and just need the inserts to be redone.

Yup. The brackets aren't part of the seat, they're part of the floor pan.

Remove the seat, either by pulling it out (if it's that badly rusted), or by sliding it all the way forward. Then reach under the seat rail without the handle, push up on the little tab there, and slide the seat the rest of the way forward.

Then unbolt the seat brackets from the hinge. Remove the old hinge, clean up the area, weld a new hinge in place.

im not talking bout the things attached to the floor pan, im talking bout the piece that is attached to the bottom of the seat which attaches to the things attached to the floorpan.

Well, you could probably get some nut plates and rivet them into the seat. And/or fiberglass them in place. That's the best suggestion I can think of at the moment.
