Depends what kind of event you're looking for!
http://www.nosubstitute.org/calendar.asp Pomona swap meet is next Sunday 7/15. Dave Bell is hosting a 914 gathering and BBQ / pool party on 7/28. http://www.malmz.com/B2.htm Chris C. |

"Cali" is an awfully big place. What part of the state are you looking for events in?

I just discovered that you're in Bakersfield (according to your profile). That puts you pretty darn close to Buttonwillow Raceway -- I was just out there yesterday with the Porsche Owners Club (POC) for a short track time trial event.
PCA has a time trial there July 28-29. POC won't be back there until Sept. 15-16 which is a major time trial and cup race weekend called the "Buttonwillow 100". The track is right off I5 at Lerdo Highway. Chris C. [This message has been edited by campbellcj (edited 07-08-2001).] |

Check out www.pca.org and look for the website for the region nearest you. They usually have a schedule of events for their region and depending on your interests you should be able to 'audit' an event (say, autocross or concourse.) You usually do not need to be a PCA member to attend though you do if you would like to participate. Most everyone is eager to talk about the club and their cars (914 drivers seem to be especially outgoing.) An event like that may be just what you need to get your juices going! Sure as hell did it for me!

The "Roadglue" club has events in N. California. http://www.roadglue.com
There is a 914 "run" of some kind down in Southern CA somewhere (Dave Bell's house, I think, but don't ask me where it is!) which you can find by searching in the Rennlist archives--if you're brave... http://www.rennlist.com The Golden Gate Region of the PCA has some events this month, up in the Bay Area. http://www.pca-ggr.org/calendar.html Loma Prieta Region also has a few events this month. http://vista.pca.org//lpr/ And there are others, I'm sure. --DD ------------------ Pelican Parts 914 Tech Support A few pics of my car: http://www.pelicanparts.com/gallery/Dave_Darling |
