Question will this oil tank work for a 914/6 conversion?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=ADME%3AL%3ARTQ%3AUS%3A1&viewitem=&item=150139750556 Hey guys I'm wondering if this oil tank will work for a 914/6 conversion? It has a similiar shape to a 914/6 tank but not exact at least to my untrained eyes. What do you think?

Nope. It can be made to work if you have flares, but will still look and act something like a hack-job. You can also put it in the front trunk (or anywhere else it fits), but it will sure look funny sitting out there exposed...

Dave I do have metal GT flares front and rear. Is the fitment issue because the oil tank is too wide? And with flares does that mean I now have the width to use a 911 tank? I appreciate the feedback.

If you look in the space between the inner firewall and the outer fender (in front of and above the driver's side rear wheel), you'll see the space you have to work with. If this space is made larger (large enough for the 911 tank) with the incorporation of your GT flares, then you're GTG.

I've seen it done in one car (911 tank, GT flares) but it was something of a hack-job. It is generally preferable to use the real thing.

I guess I'll search for a OEM or aftermarket 914/6 oil tank. Thanks for the replies.
