Bad front main seal, bad oil cooler seals, leaking oil pressure "idiot light" sender, leaking oil gallery plugs...
Clean it all up and look to see where oil is coming from. --DD

Not necessarily to check, get one of those mirrors on a radio antenna looking things next time you see one for cheap at harbor frieght or big lots or whatever. One or two mirrors makes it a lot easier to see into a tight spot.
I give them to my diabetic patients to inspect their feet.

Yup, that and a flashlight will help. Clean everything, then look for oil seeping. Then start the engine and look for oil seeping. Then drive the car for ~a mile and look for oil seeping.
Stop if you find oil at any point. In general, the oil will be coming from the highest and furthest-forward point where you find oil. --DD
