Hybrid cylinder Heads

I saw some watercooled heads for a Type 1 engine on the SambaVw forum. Are there any such heads available for the type 4 engine. This would make life alot easier for boost. These were not modified Wasserboxer heads but new castings made for aircooled barrels.

Save the water for a Suby motor.....

Having aircooled heads on a boosted TIV didn't stop me from doing this yesterday...
2513cc,A/A intercooler, 7:1, 14 PSI boost, stock head castings.....Pump gas- for a daily driver...

Thank god watercooled heads aren't available for the TIV.

Hey Jake,

I was not questioning your ability to make horsepower, I was wondering if a little water would enhance your ability to make a little higher compression and a little more horsepower. You can take your gloves off, I am still planning to come to you to build my motor

No gloves were worn :-)

I just hate radiators :-)

This engine wasn't just about HP- we put 11 solid hours of dyno time on it and it passed every check with better than typical results...

Highest CHT recorded was 375F and that was in a 150 degree dyno cell with Georgia ambient temps at 103F yesterday.

Its all in the combo.

When asking about the possibility of higher compression I am more concerned about throttle response, which is usually bad with with Medium boost and lower compression levels. Besides I just dislike unsightly radiators, I am sure the rads for these heads would not require so much room.

To increase throttle response keep the intake plumbing compact and retain a sane throttle body size...

The intercooled Turbo in the graph had excellent throttle response on the dyno, more than likey due to it's intake characteristics and overall engine displacement.

One unit for the pushrod 356 engine has been completed for a while.

I am currently developing a 4 cam shroud for the Type 1 and Type 4 engines and have just started the modeling processes. I expect development to take 18-20 months.

Go over to the www.spyderclub.com site and do a search for "Ibrahim".... He sells the unit.

Be prepared to spend SEVERAL thousand dollars on this enhancement!
