I am currently using Rivera wheels with Yoko A008IIs 195-60-15 tires. A008s are now discontinued, so I need to upgrade to 205's. Problem: My Rivera wheels are too narrow for 205's to autocross safely. I've heard Fuch Repros are safe to use 205's. Does anyone know the width of the Fuch wheels? Or a similar wheel that will autocross 205's safely? Thanks you... Darrell

I have a 73 that I am parting out and it has some Pedrini alloys. They should handle 205s.....
I'm located in Santa Barbara CA. |

The 205s also would not fit under stock fenders with the "VW Bug" offset Rivieras.

Fuchs repros are the same offset and size as the real Fuchs: 15 x 5.5, and you can usually fit a 205 under most stock fendered 914s. |

I was recently in the same situation (195/60 A008RS's -> 205/50 Kumho V700's). Many if not most 914's can fit 205/50's under stock fenders with the factory Fuchs, Mahle or Pedrini 15 x 5.5" wheels.
IMHO don't get the repros...you can get "real" 914 wheels for $300-400 a set. The Fuchs are the strongest, and some say the lightest too (conflicting stories on that point.) Repro wheels are usually cast, not forged, and of dubious materials and construction quality. NOT what you want when you're going into a 90mph turn. Chris C. |

My friend has a set of Kumho's V700 205/50-15's on a set of Rivieras with no clearace problems. I'm running the same tires on a set of Fuchs but need spacers while autocrossing, tire rubbing on the inner fender.

Mike Galloway has Fuchs, Mahles and Pedrinis too. Follow the link in my signature to his site.

Dude, those are Mahles, not Pedrinis! The Pedrinis have every other raised "spoke" running to a bolt hole. The Mahles go in between the holes.
Check the Wheel ID page for confirmation, both from me and "Rust Boy". Must be all of that Cabernet going to your head... ![]() --DD ------------------ Pelican Parts 914 Tech Support A few pics of my car: http://www.pelicanparts.com/gallery/Dave_Darling |
