My foglights work, but, turn off when I turn my headlights on. Is there a way to wire the foglights so they will stay on with the headlights? Or, do I have them wired up wrong to begin with?
Thanks, Shane |

Sounds like something is wired wrong. The Fog light should only work with the Headlight on at Low-Beam setting. If you fog lights work with out the lights being on then something has been changed in the wiring.
Do a search on Foglights there have been other threads on the subject that might help answer some of your questions ------------------

Check Brad Anders' re-wire of the foglights in his car: http://members.rennlist.com/pbanders .

I still don't have schematics for what I did up on the page, sorry. For the foglight problem described in this thread, I suggest printing out the schematic here on the PP website for your car, and tracing the circuit. Many PO's have fiddled with the circuit, so it's hard to say what you may find is wrong...

It sounds to me like the control lead for the foglight relay is connected to the wrong place. You can change it so the lights stay on with the lowbeams, highbeams, or both.
This pic shows where the relay should be connected (from my 73) and where to move it for driving lights to run w/ the highbeams. |
