Exclamation need help with shift support!!

This is driving me nuts! I took the shift support plate off my side shift tranny to replace the leaking oil seal. Now, I can not get the thing back together properly! The three pronged fork looking thing seems to only go in one way, but when I get it all together, the car will not shift. It's as if nothing inside the tranny moves at all. I know there must be some totally obvious mistake here; so please offer any advice! Thanks...

Have a friend operate the shifter while you watch underneath. See if the shifting mechanism (bar and lever) in the back is moving back and forth and up & down.

Lets us know the results of this test.

allright I feel dumb. The thing was in gear, so I just popped it out of gear with a screwdriver, and everything went back together perfectly.
