Talking Headlights are out of sync

Last night working on my car I left a small exacto knife in the little headlight groove. Well, when I went to open the headlights the one headlight with the knife didn't move much. Now, my headlights are about 180 degrees out of sync, when one is up, the other is down. I tried to trick the headlighs by putting into position with the relay removed but no luck. Reading thru old posts I read something about a position sensor? How to fix this?

Turn the lights on....the one that goes up wil do so...open the trunk and spin the black dial on the back of the headlight motor that is down....counter clockwise....that should do it.

Watch your hand, and remove the knife first....

i accidentally did something like that once. so the headlights would be one upone down. what i did was take the little dust cover off the side of the light in the trunk. theres a little black round ground relay. unplug the one thats stuck up. then turn your lights on. then pulg the other light back in and all done. they work once more
