2.0 Vacuum advance problem
Help. The vacuum advance on my 74 2.0 is disconected. It is the smaller hose that is closer to the throttle body. The hose that connects on the distributor side of the cylinder is connected to the throttle body, but I cant find where the other hose connects. Can I just tee it into the smaller hose on the decel valve since it comes from around the same place, or does it hook someplace else. Please help. I have no low-end torque, and this is my daily driver.

So that little piece of hose goes noware? I can just cap the port? I was wondering if I could tee it into the small line from the plenum to the decel valve (over by the battery) I tried hooking it up to the port and my idle jumped up, but I wasnt sure wether it would affect anything else

Brian is right, the hose that looks like it is the advance does not hook up anywhere. Our 1974 had this problem and we found the distributor advance was stuck in semi-advance. An overhaul of the distributor cured the lack of power an dinability to rev over 4k rpm.

Thanks, My car has just come out of 8.5 years of prerestoration storage. It was a daily driver from 74 until 88. Then the state inspection ran out in 90, but now it is back on the road, so I am sorting out a few problems.
