I think mine is installed wrong. Can you just ground the neg to the chassis, and run the pos straight to the battyer pos post?

Run the pos. to 'Keyed' power or the old fuel pump relay. Otherwise the pump will always be on.
I ran mine to the fuse box and hooked it up to keyed power. Then I chucked out the facet pump and got a nice adjustable diaphram pump. ------------------ CWP/VIR 72 914 L20E in rusto. 73 914 L20E 2.0L in resto. http://members.rennlist.com/a914lover |

If the pump is in the engine compartment you could run the + line to the + side of the coil, and just ground out the pump to the chassis. If you wana run it to the battery I am assuming you have it on the passenger side of the engine compartment right? If so that would be the simplest way to get your pump to turn on/off with the ignition.

If it's in the engine bay, I suggest using the old FI power relay to power your pump. It will get switched on when the ignition is on. One of the pins of the four-pin plug on the relay board is the output there (check the wiring diagram for which one), so you can simply plug a 1/4" female spade connector onto it.
No muss, no fuss--and you're not hanging extra stuff off the coil. It's probably not a bad thing to hang stuff off it, but the idea just makes me uneasy. --DD ------------------ Pelican Parts 914 Tech Support A few pics of my car: http://www.pelicanparts.com/gallery/Dave_Darling |

On my car, I used the existing Fuel Pump Relay. The trick is to find the number III pin on the T4 connector and connect a wire to it via a stake-on connector. Then, connect the other end to ground. This should make the ground path to power the coil that pulls in the fuel pump relay power contacts.

a good anti-theft device: put a switch in the ground circuit of the pump. locate that switch and grounding point under drivers seat. break circuit (off) when parked, flip on when about to start
