Can I Put 1.8 Stainless Heat on my 2.0???
I am curious If I can put a set of 1.8 ss heat exchangers on my 73 2.0. the unit seems the same piping but it curves up a little at the rear. So my exhaust is rusted anyway. My idea is to put the stainless on and buy a bursch exhaust to fit the 1.8 exchangers. i realize i will need the new hanger. My question is the exhaust is "tuned". does that mean i will chocke my 2.0 with this bursch exhaust?? Can someone let me know if it will be no change. the car has fuel injection and is completly stock.

The exhaust is not tuned any better or any worse on the 74 1.8 than on the 73-74 2.0. (The 75-76 exhaust is a whole 'nother deal, and is much worse.) You will see little if any real change in performance by going from the stock 2.0 exchangers to the SSI 1.7/1.8 ones.
The SSIs are larger diameter than the stock exchangers, so you might even gain a little. --DD
