Question Fuel lines up front?

On the 1.8L fuel/vacuum line diagram on this site, it shows sizes and lengths of hoses for the replacement of the lines under the fuel tank.

Would these measurements work (size/length/qty) for a '75 2.0L also? The 1.8L has the pump up front also, that's why I'm curious.

I've noticed that about 12" of 5mm hose from the fuel tank cap to the expansion tank is not shown. Is anything else missing?

Yes, the fuel hoses up front should be the same between the 75-76 1.8 and 2.0.

I don't know what other hoses may not be shown. I think I omitted that hose from my 73-74 hose diagram as well...

That sounds good.

I'm planning on pulling my tank out while I do this, just to give me more room and plus to see what's going on down there. My old cloth braided lines are really stinking. I've stuck my nose on the shift boot and didn't smell anything, so I'm not too concerned with the plastic lines. Plus the seal around the 8-10 bolts under the gas cap smells too, so I might pull that apart and reseal it.

Is there anything else I should do or look at while down there under the tank?

While you have the tank out... clean it out... i.e. get out any rust debris or other crud that has collected at the bottom and may be cloggin up your outlet screen.

Check the pads that keep the gas tank from rubbing on the body. They may not be there, or they may be water-soaked. Clean any rust you find, and re-paint with any decent metal paint. (POR-15 is preferred, of course!)

Also, if my memory is working correctly, the supply line from the tank to the fuel filter is 8mm in size (bigger than the Pressured lines). You want to use good FI fuel lines (available from Pelican).

I've found that the 70-74 cars have a 9mm (3/8" works well) feed and a 7mm (5/16") return. While the 75-76 cars have 7mm for both.

I've already got the 7mm fuel lines on order from PP.

But unfortunately, if it is anything like my other vacuum/fuel line order from PP, it'll take a week before my order is shipped....

Thanks
