Question Idle adjustment procedure

When adjusting idle should the throttle cable be adjusted so that the butterfly in the throttle body is not completely closed. If I adjust the cable with slack then the butterfly is closed and it has problems with idle but will run if I keep pressure on the accelerator!?

I believe you should have a little slack in the cable, the air adjustment screw on the throttle body should do the same thing as you are doing when holding the butterfly valve open.

try pulling the screw out all the way and flush it out and clean it with pipe cleaners

it just might be clogged
