Post quick question about webers

Hey guys, just a quick question about one of my carbs. It seems to be getting almost no gas through it, and the mixture screws seem to make no difference. I can close them both all the way and the car still runs almost the same. (not very well...) Any ideas off the top of your head on what to look at first? I haven't really looked into it, and thought I'd check with you guys first. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a rebuild is in order. I did the two Weber 48s on my race car this past Thurs night and they were a mess inside. There was a bunch of that white vaseline like goop and the passage in the left carb was nearly plugged with a brown rusty goop? I only run race gas and they still need cleaning once a year!!! Get the Weber carb book, read it carefully and get a couple of rebuild kits and redo them. Good luck.

Sounds like you may need to clean the inlet filters where the fuel lines enter the carb..

Also the float/needle valve can be hanging, and will cause this...Check those filters before you take them apart for no reason...
