Rust Repair Panels

So I'm at the point in my resto where I need to order inner rocker repair panels, etc. I see on this site that all of the panels are unavailable at the moment.

I also note that although Restoration Design's site is up and running, both the telephone and fax numbers have been disconnected.

What's the story?

When and where might I be able to find the repro parts I'm looking for?

Thanks!

The parts we list as "Temporarily Unavailable" are for the most part the ones we used to get from RD. We had issues getting parts delivered in a timely manner.

I have not heard anything more than that RD's phone is disconnected.

There may be people on the various BBSes that have parts stashed, or you may be able to get parts from a wreck. ... There may even be some parts available from our *cough* competitors.

Thanks, Dave.

What do folks use to repair rust in the area of the lower wheel house on the DRIVER'S side? I'm talking about the area aft of the jack tube as it curves upwards to the rear suspension mount.

Are clamshells (the full longitudinal wrap) considered to be acceptable for repairing rust in this area and in the longs themselves?

I'm not trying to mask rust and I plan on treating it/removing it as well as possible if I do go this route. Around here, parts cars are rare and rotten so there's little hope of finding this usable part to cut out of another car.

I'm ashamed to say I did check with the competition following your recommendation above (even though I was already on my own private boycott) and they don't have a replacement wheelhouse for the driver's side either.

The parts are available from Pelican's competitors. I'd rather not say who on this board, that's just not fair but I will tell you that there are other 914 specific boards that are very active and many people there will share the info with you.
