Question Enlarging Hole in Brake Pad

Gentlemen:

I am getting into an area which I know very little about: Enlarging one hole one the 914-4 brake pad to fit the one of the holding pins. According to Pelican Parts, a memo states drill to fit the larger pin. These pads appear to be a universal type (Porsche 914, Alfa Romeo, etc.). I was wondering and need advice regarding how large, slotting, heat expansion, etc.

Does anyone have advice, have done it, or know where to go to for advice and procedure. It looks like something critical could happen here and do need advice.

The way I am presently looking at the situation is to "mike" both pins in the appropriate areas, "mike" the opening in the pad to get the proper relationship (use the smaller one as the basis reference) and open the required enlargement hole to fit its profile. Does anyone have the size the larger hole has to be drilled? Procedures?? Anything??

I am concerned about heat, movement, etc.

I need to put in the original brakes to get the car roadworthy. Later, everything will be converted to the 911 brakes and ebrake, or equivalent.

Thanks in advance.

The exact size of the hole is non-critical. The caliper itself, plus the relationship between the two pins, will keep the pads in the right place.
