wheel stud length and wheel fitment.
To all those out there who have converted to 5 lug. I am in the middle of my -6 conversion. and i'm trying to figure out what wheel spacers i may need. So what have you guy used? i have steel GT flares on the car and the wheels i have are 7" and 8" fuchs. the tires i'm planning on will be 205's front and 225's rear. Any pics would be greatly appreciated.

Most Porsche 5 lug hubs will have long enough studs to mount your wheels.
Spacers should not be required. Back space is everything as opposed to off-set. You really want to keep the wheels as close in as possible. Especially if you have a lip on the steel fender. |

If you are actually looking to "fill the fenders", I seem to recall 1" adaptors being quite helpful in this regard. The 1" adaptor (or, I guess you could use really long studs and spacers) will make the 7's look like 8s and the 8's look like 9s. Depending on rideheight and alignment settings this could work.

1" spacers will work in the front no problem, but might be at the limit in the rear depending on tire brand and type. I think 3/4" is a safe bet in the rear for all tires on 8" wheels.

I have a 1975 GT clone with AA metal flares. I'm running 16x7 + 16x8 Fuchs in standard 911 offset. I have 205/55 + 245/45 Yoko tires. The rear fill just fine with no spacers I have aprox. 3/16 - 1/4 inch gap to the fender lip. On the front there is a lot of space, easily a 1 inch spacer. I have not added a front spacer yet but will in the future.

I switch around wheels frequently as i have different sets for street and track use.
I finally got tired of trying different length studs and just got a set of 100mm studs for the front and rear. That way, you can use any size spacer (or combination thereof) you need to get the wheels exactly where you want them.  AndyPS: And yes, you'll want at least a 1" spacer for the front. Otherwise you'll end up with a huge gap between the wheel and the fender ...
