NASA racing

Not exactly a tech question but, has anyone here raced with NASA? I am thinking about getting into their HPDE program, but I would appreciate any advice anyone has.

Can't say I've ever tried a NASA event, but I know a few people who have..... Sounds like a professional organization.

Only concern I would have is regarding safety... Locally, A lot of the smaller auto groups will provide track time without an ambulance on hand..... Kinda the rung-what-ya-brung type. I would want to know that the other people on the track were equally invested in their own safety to the extent that I was.... our PCA region does an excellent job of getting this point across to all attendants...

- I would want to know that the other people's cars were in
good mechanical (safe) shape
- an ambulance on hand in case of injury or fire
- corner workers to save my butt if needed..

Why don't you attend a couple of the PCA events and then when you go to the NASA event you will have a good mental check list to compare with

I've raced along side them with the Touring Car Club at Willow Springs. They seem to be a class outfit, but hardcore. Most of the cars I saw are dedicated racers, not a street sled in the bunch.

I raced at their event @ Vegas this year on the ALMS road course on the inside track of the oval. A nice bunch of hardcore workers and racers, but their organizational skills leave something to be desired. OTTO
