Storing 914 for Winter
What preparation do I need to store my 914 in an unheated garage in North Dakota cold?

Not sure what you've done in the past, but to me, what comes to mind is
1) inflate tires (overinflate a bit) to prevent flat spotting 2) Fill up fuel tank to limit amount of moisture build up. Might consider use of a "dry gas" or "stabil" product as well 3) Will you have access to the car at all or will it be "locked away"? - battery should at least be on a trickle charger. Or, ideally, removed and stored in the house, on a trickle charger. 4) Some would likely change oil BEFORE storage and then change oil AFTER storage. 5) if in a barn (ie, near mice etc) some mothball type defense might help as well.

Good tips, to which I would add:
Remove the battery, to prevent it from overcharging and boiling over halfway through December, which you probably wouldn't discover 'til sometime in March, after it ate halfway through your battery tray. To keep the mice at bay, I stuff steel wool into the tailpipe and air intakes. I also lay a couple paper towels in the interior, so the mice can shred them instead of my seats. Cats help, too. I wouldn't worry about the cold. There's a reason things keep longer in the freezer than elsewhere, and it works for cars as well as food.
