914 Temperature Sensor II
My recent purchase of a 1978 914 runs badly. It will not idle and occasionally quits until it cools down. Among the things I thought was wrong was the TEMP Sensor II and I replaced it. When I removed the old one that incidentally tested good, there was a 1000 ohm resistor that had been added in line to the ACU. Without the Resistor it won't idle and with it the idle is 1200 -1800 RPMS. I have replaced vacuum tubes and found that the vacuum advance on the distributor had no line so I added one and it is better, but no smoothness and high idle RPMS.
Anyone know about the resistor or suggestions. I am about to carburetor it (Uggh) |

I studied this when I tried to make my 2.0 run better. And now it runs like a champ.
914 D-Jetronic Parts and Troubleshooting I realized d-jet fuel injection system is easy to live with once straightened. Good luck! BW |

What year and engine size is it? You said 1978, but that has to be a typo...
