I just found a 914 rack under my 1969 911. Are there any functional differences?
Is it just a part # change? Thanks, Dan |

I know the early 911s used a more complex rack than the LWB and later cars. They went to a "flexible" rack with tensioning puck rather than a floating design. This flexible rack was first introduced on the 914. I do not know if the 911 used its own part number or not, but the part should be the same.

Thanks for the help!
Our host now offers the 914 part as the only replacement steering rack for 911. For at least '69 and later, they're the same part. -Dan |
