If you want an excel spreadsheet you can plug things into, shoot me an email at gtgears@yahoo.com Be sure to put a title on it. Untitled emails end up in the junk trashcan...

trekkor,
What are you running for tires? 22.5" is pretty small.

I think most 205/50/15's are close to that size.
Would be nice to see a graph of stock gears. The table is a little harder to work. Motor would be a 1.7. Partially wondering if the gear splits are tighter than most stock 915's. Still in the concept stage. Thx. |

Now I run 13" Goodyear radial slicks! 22x8x13 ( 225/45/13 front ) appr. 22.5x11x13 ( 305/33/13 rear ) appr. 22.5" tall! ![]() It took quite a bit of work to make this happen. KT

You can use the chart I posted to suit your needs. Just print it out and highlight your powerband RPM's on lines A-F-N-V-ZD ( stock ratios ). My yellow highlights represent a full throttle run-up through the gears. Each '+' before the start of the yellow swipe shows the RPM drop into the next gear after a 7300 RPM upshift. For example: after an upshift from gear 'c' into gear 'f', results are 45 mph @7300 to 45 mph @5500. KT

I matched my personal best a couple weeks ago, going easy. 2:15
I expect to hit a 2:07-10 in a couple weeks when I return on 12/11,12. 2.6 liter SIX, appr 200hp. Gear set is c-f-m-s-x. KT

Thx for the offer.
What club do your run with? Miss my 86 911. All stock except cat bypass, chip, and 7&9's with MPSC's. Last DE pulled a 2:16.5 at TH but had faster laps in practice. 2:07 would be fun. Trying to come up with a plan for 2011. The best. |

My 2:15 was with the two liter on 205's.
The Goodyear slicks are pretty nice. Here's a fun video from nearly two years ago! KT

Send me your email addy. I'll get you a chart you can manipulate. I'll include a sample of your '86 911's 915 gearing at the same time.
