Porsche wheel offsets?

Guys, this question has probably been asked before, but I've been searching to no avail. I want to get as much rubber tucked under my fender wells as possible (currently have 205's on Fuchs 16x6 (5 lug)), and want to keep my teener in "classic" mode if at all possible, ie no flares.

Anyone have or know of a fairly complete cross reference of Porsche wheel sizes / offsets??? I've heard you run get 225's on phone dials without flares, perhaps certain Boxster take-offs, perhaps C2's, and perhaps 951 Fuchs', but the anal engineer in me wants to see some specs before I start polishing the inside of my wheel wells .

You might want to double check some of the info, I know a few of his wheel weights are off.

I'm running 205/50/16's all around on my '75.......the rims are '86 951 16x7 Phonedials. I did have to "massage" the rear fender lips a little to fit them.

If the rims had a little more offset, I wouldn't have had to play with the fender lips.

You might get 225's on the rear without rolling the fender lip, but it'll be real tight and you will have to have the perfect offset rims.

You need to investigate the tires as well, every manufactures tires vary, not all 225's are equal.

I have a set of 15 x 6 with a 4 7/8 backset (or offset, as I think you're calling it). 205's are a piece of cake. I had some rims custom made at Circle Racing Wheels for another car, and the guy there was saying that offset was measured from the front side. Who Knows! But one or the other plus the width should give you all the info you need. Remember, you have things that rub on the inside too.

I am running 215/60/15 on 6 x 15 Fuchs. A little basebat bat was needed on the rear. Fronts fits nicely and fills that fender.

Go see it at :

Have fun, i am presently trying to fit 993 wheels without flares!

I'm running 15 x7 custom Fuchs replicas that I had made with 135mm backspacing (and 10 mm spacers on the rear) with 205x60x15 yokos. The clearance is fine, but when I mounted up some Dunlop D01's I had to change to 5 mm spacers on the rear. It is a bit tight on the inside with the Dunlops but they just clear.

Offset is measured from the center of the wheel to the bolt plane.

Backspacing is measured from the inside lip of the rim to the bolt plane. (Sorry, I don't have a page for that.)

Gruntie,
Looks like the mother lode! I assume this is from official mother-ship documentation, do you know what documentation specifically? Thanks for the info!

It's a copy of a leaflet I picked up in a main dealer a few (several) years ago, listing wheels, "maintenance kits", wiper blades, spark plugs & batteries. Published 1/87 so no use for more recent stuff: never seen a more recent version, unfortunately.
