914 buyers guide

Sorry if this has been discussed before but...

Can anyone recommend a 914 buyers guide?

Thanks in advance.

You might want to try the Pelican Parts Official Guide to Buying a 914 . It will give you a lot of the information you might need.

Pelican Parts has a nice informational what to look for article. I used it to buy my 914. So you are there already!! My advice is to spend the money up front, a low priced low will be a higher priced car long-term.

Have fun with your search.

Also check the "914 FAQ" in the Tech Articles section of this website. Written by some long-haired oddball whose name escapes me right now...

Also check out e-bay for the curent going rate in your area. I live in Miami and beleive me there are some rusted out POC going for big money in Florida.

On the good side there seem to be alot of 914's in Florida so be patient. Don't buy a $500 car that needs $6000 to be as nice as another car that was selling for $4000 in the first place.

Penny wise, Pound foolish.

Doug, I live in Jupiter - 25 min north of you. I drive a '72 914 and will help check out a car for you. Let me know what you find.

All,

Thanks for the replies. I have a copy of the PP buyer guide and the Market Update from Excellence in hand now.

The search begins....

Thanks again.
