73 1.7 with bad fuel line leak
Hi everyone, I am having a problem with a fuel line leak, the car is a 73 1.7 with a single weber carburetor, just to get an idea. Anyway, near the rear fire wall, a fuel line passes through it, but then goes toward the bottom of the car, this line is NOT attached to anything, I was thinking it was a weber carb float overfill line, but the fuel line comes from the front of the car, not from the carb; after starting the car for a bit then turning it off, fuel flows through it and onto the ground without stopping. As a side note, I do see fuel in the inline fuel filter attached to the fuel line going to the carb.
So my question is, with the carb setup, where would that line be going to, and why would it be leaking gas like this? Any ideas?

What you are probably seeing is the return line to the tank for when the car had the original fuel injection.
Do NOT drive the car until you get this sorted out. Your description is a little confusing, but it sounds like something isnt hooked up right. With a carburetor setup (I strongly advise you to get rid of the Weber) you need to have a single fuel line from the tank, cap off the return line and use a low pressure fuel pump. |

I agree. Also check the line coming from the charcoal cannister might be swapped by mistake.
