911 flag mirrors on 914
I just installed 911 flag mirrors on my 1975 Euro 914. The driver side fit almost perfectly. When I came to install the RH mirror in the same opposite location, I realized that the mirror stand bracket was not the same as on the LH side. Later I realized tha tha 911 did not have the mirrors located at the same spot on both sides.
Does any one know if there is a RH mirror stand that is the same as the LH side? Maybe the UK version? ![]() ![]() |

The 944 base is slightly different from the 911 base; I used 944 bases on both sides and could mount them correctly-pass side a little more forward.

I would like to thank all for the responses which point be in the right direction. I wish that I used the forum before the mirror installation.
I just finished installing electric windows and electric door locks...will post some photos soon. PS I am designing a retractable GPS that will stow in the ashtray location. |

Apart from the base are 944 mirrors the same as 911? Is the glass the same P/N?

Your picture showing the pass side mirror shows a thicker rubber pad; is one side different, or is it the camera angle. Don't have a part number handy I've also done the power window install, probably the best upgrade done. There are universal kits available that work well; they probably wont be as fast as a new cars, but they do the trick.

Any pics of it zoomed out at an angle to see proportion? Interesting mod.

911/944 mirrors are the same except the base piece and can be swapped.

If you do a search on the 914World site, you may find the original thread; I lost my bookmark. You will need to try various combinations of : 911, mirror, flag, installation

The link above will take you to the search results page for "911 flag mirror installation"; try hunting on the threads listed there and you will likely find a lot of info about it. I haven't looked, so I can't say that a How-To thread is part of it, but at least there will be a lot of discussion about the subject!
