The size should read "5 1/2 J 15". The "J" indicates, I think, that the wheel has a "safety bead" that won't allow the tire to come all the way off the wheel. The J is left off of most designations any more, as pretty much everyone has that.
You can probably, but not definitely, fit 205s under stock fenders with those. Note that the "00" version (by far the most common one) that you have will not fit 73+ front hubs due to the hub-centering ring. --DD

i too have a stocker 72 1.7 with a set of sweet Pedrini's. They are loaded with 195 60 15 with plenty of room to play. What ive read in Pateries book is that 205 will fit if you bend out the rim a little.

Kevin, how much are you paying for those Pedrini's? I have a set in great shape which I'd like to sell, but don't have an idea on the value. Prices seem to be all over the place! Mike
