914 1973 1.7 l fuel pump

i just purchased a 1973 914 with 1.7L engine L fuel injection. I am not getting 12 volts to my fuel pump.not sure why?

does the the fuel delivery pump relay make a noise or click when the car is powered up?

A stock system has the fuel pump powered by the fuel injection system. It runs the pump for about 1.5 seconds when you turn the key from "off" to "on", then it stops until you crank the starter.

The pump circuit does sometimes get re-wired by people who don't completely understand it. Or by those who convert over to carbs.

Check the fuse on the panel in the engine compartment. Mine corroded and wasn't getting power thru it

how do I check whether the fuel injection system is powering the fuel pump?
