Question Correct spacing

Just repainted the engine screen and was wondering if there is an actual spec for the spacing between the Porsche lettering. My '73 is a 'Box-O-Carparts' deal, and my '75 didn't have them on when I got stuc....I mean paid for it (literally). Or should I just measure the screen and divide by eight?

I just went out and measured mine for comparison. I don't believe the letters have ever been removed. The left edge of the "P" is 2" from the edge of the lid, as is the right edge of the "E". The spacing between each letter is 4.75" from edge to edge. I would located the "P" and "E" as indicated and then center the "S" on the engine lid screen. Then space out the remaining letters evenly.
