who makes 4 bolt larger wheels
was just thinking, i need new tires and i would rather mount them on a set of wheels that are a few sizes larger. thinking of somthing around 17x7 or 7.5 and get a set of low prifile wheels to keep the outer diameter similar to stock.
16 inchers would also be ok. but i would rather not convert to 5 lug hubs and rotors if possible. i would just like a decent set of 4 bolt wheels that are larger. anyone know? |

Compomotive, Panasport and Revolution are your best bet.

TTRS Racing can get you Revolutions in about a zillion different size/bolt pattern/backspace combinations.
http://www.ttrsracing.com I've e-mailed Tom from TTRS, and he was courteous and knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. Unfortunately, what I wanted was not one of the wheels they carried, and the minimum order was too steep for me too have them built... --DD

wow, expensive prices for those size wheels.
looks like a 5 bolt conversion is the only way for me. damn that was somthing i tried to avoid but its cheaper in the end to run bigger more readily available 5bolt wheels than buy the $300 a piece 4 bolt wheels that are bigger. thanks for the info guys |

Check the Revolution wheels if you want a good reasonably priced wheel with proper offset. I have 6.5 x 15" RFX wheels with a 5.125" back spacing with 205/60 Yoka AVSs. Mine have black centers with a polished rims. Very good quality, but the style may not please everyone. These clear the stock rear fenders fine. The fronts will rub the inner fender at absolute full lock, but are never a problem in normal driving. I bought these wheels directly from Revolution in England several years ago when I was working in Europe. At the time I paid 75 Pounds British each which at todays conversion of 1.42$/pound = $107. at the time I think the rate was about 1.8$/pound = $135. A fair price in my opinion.

If you're going to do a conversion why not convert to the import bolt pattern, then you would have many different 17" rims to choose from. The person who posts under the name "malmz" was talking about a conversion to do this that would fit under the stock fenders. Do a search in the 914 part for sale under "import wheels". Sounds pretty interesting if you want 17's.

There was a local car here in colorado that used the dreaded 4 to 5 bolt adapters that were approx 1" think. He ran a 17" x 7" 993 turbo twist (technology) wheels with out any problems. It's my understanding that the quality of adapters has gone way up. That doesn't exactly make them good, and you definitely can't race on them.
Just another option... Scott S
