Sender for combo guage
Just picked up a combo guage (fuel & temp) and need to find out which sender will work with it. The new VDO does not as I tested it and the needle barely moves. Pelican shows on but it's not clear if it is the right one for this guage.

I am sure that the stock temp sender mounted on the front bottom of the engine case will work with your fuel and temp combo gauge.

This is an older car and does not have a temp sender. I added one to my '74 which mounted on the oil pan (apparently that's what it's called) on the bottom of the engine. Unfortunatly this one only works with a new VDO guage. What I need to find out is what part to order for the older gauge.

The stock oil temp sender Porsche part number is 039 919 268 .
I don't know if this part is any longer available. If not, you might find one from the many people parting out cars. Phil |

Sender $26 what about the mounting plate?
Jim (and everyone else),
That's great that PP has the stock sender in stock for $26. Does anybody have any of the special two piece mounting plates or can you just thread the existing plate and still get "accurate" readings? |
